Every enterprise has critical intellectual capital that can be focused in ways that provide competitive advantage. Human capital management (HCM) practices can improve the ability for turning that intellectual capital into knowledge that is shared, protected and leveraged across the enterprise. When knowledge is transferred, using knowledge management practices, it can improve business processes. That's the business value add of knowledge management. This study describes HCM practices that can improve knowledge management and thus, in turn, can improve business process improvement.
