BT Innovate & Design, part of U.K.-based communications company BT, supports the company’s network systems transformation and business operations, with responsibility for 2,500 operational systems supporting four major lines of business and external customer applications. According to Ashish Gupta, president global services portfolio and service design, BT has an aggressive plan: to reduce its application portfolio by 10% per year for next three years. “The key challenge,” says Gupta, “is to improve the application delivery process, concentrating on the goals of agility, continual simplification and rationalization.”
