We're updating our SRM application coverage due to market maturity and vendor stability. Instead of creating a Magic Quadrant for SRM and SAN management software, we focus on the value of SRM offerings, with guidance on the best products to manage complex storage.

  • The usefulness of the SRM Magic Quadrant has eroded due to the increased stability and maturity of the SRM market defined by the Magic Quadrant, so it will be discontinued
  • The blending of the system and storage management function has blurred differentiations among traditional SRM applications, resulting in products that no longer fit a heterogeneous SRM category
  • Many organizations prefer to use native tools for an array or to create their own reporting systems, rather than purchasing and using SRM software tools to manage storage and data
