Impacts and Recommendations

  • To adapt current workloads for cloud deployment, IT organizations face application modernization investments, from simple adjustments to full redesign, and will achieve varying degrees of cloudiness
  • IT organizations using backward-compatible, cloud-based aPaaS and cloud design principles can obtain some cloud characteristics while leveraging existing skills and tools, but will incur the same or larger development costs
  • IT organizations using high-productivity, cloud-native aPaaS can achieve the high benefits of cloud computing, but at the cost of relinquishing some control and facing discontinuity in architecture and programming
