Impacts and Recommendations

  • As business models evolve in response to the Nexus of Forces and consumerization, sourcing managers will change how and what they choose to outsource, as well as which suppliers they select for delivery
  • Businesses expect different expertise, insights and qualities from both CIOs and IT staff than previously. Sourcing managers will also need individuals who understand, prioritize and support broader business goals, rather than those who possess only IT management and technically-specific skills
  • The volume of enterprise information is growing at an incredible rate, but approximately 80% of this information is unstructured. Sourcing managers must develop the ability to filter and analyze data for what is most relevant to critical sourcing decisions
