Enterprises often struggle to justify investments in zBX. Those with allegiance to IBM across System z and Power Systems with AIX workloads should ask IBM for a trial system to pilot, and end users that plan to deploy should get the contract details in writing.

Table Of Contents
  • Key Challenges

  • Don't Assume zBX Will Match IFL and Linux Adoption Rates and Timelines
  • Ask IBM for References Comparable to Possible Implementations
  • The Key zBX Value Propositions Are Hardware Management and, Possibly, Consolidation of Heterogeneous Workloads
  • Form a Cross-Platform Specialists Committee to Reorganize Management and Administration of a Hybrid Architecture
  • Request a POC zBX
  • Understand the Upgrade/Update Process
  • Determine Whether the zBX Could Be Used to Introduce a Competitive Alternative to VMware for a Windows Hypervisor
