Impacts and Recommendations

  • Because the IoT will generate increasingly greater volumes of information, IT leaders need data filtering, management and analysis to map the right set of information to the right context of users and consumers in smart cities or campuses
  • The ability to contextualize datasets in campuses for energy and environmental management, as well as for security applications, to provide immediate value is a core methodology need for campus IT architects
  • As vendors continue building out ecosystems and consortia, IT architects need to assess the common syntax of these ecosystems for security processes, information validity, and advanced and predictive analytics
