Impacts and Recommendations

  • NetSuite's acquisition of OrderMotion expands order management capabilities and the ability to better serve the retail and manufacturing verticals
  • Changes will occur for the two NetSuite competitors, Demandware and eBay's Magento, that currently partner with OrderMotion; Demandware will likely look for a new DOM partner or solution for its customers as a result of the acquisition, while Magento Enterprise Edition has since been integrated with eBay Enterprise back-end solutions to deliver enterprise-class DOM and fulfillment
  • As NetSuite works out its final product road map, OrderMotion clients currently using its non-DOM apps (such as PIM, retention management/continuity, cross-channel self-service and retail-enabled metrics and reports) are likely to experience changes to the product strategy
