While the hype around virtual desktop infrastructure/HVDs continues, most desktop administrators find deployment obstacles overwhelming. Capital costs, complexity and connectivity are key inhibitors, and HVDs/VDIs struggle to gain a sizable market, remaining a niche technology despite the benefits.
