The worldwide silicon wafer market in 2013 suffered a 13.5% decline on an annual basis, with total revenue of $7.9 billion. The top two vendors, Shin-Etsu Handotai and Sumco, each lost 2% market share due to a significant decline in the exchange rate of the yen.
