Impacts and Recommendations

  • Digital business, the Nexus of Forces, multiplying delivery channels and increasing demand for personalized services will force application managers to adopt new delivery approaches for their application portfolios
  • Users will still need much of the functionality and data sitting in today's applications, forcing application managers to find new ways to access functionality and data
  • New sources of apps will enable application managers to focus on APIs and services, and stop worrying about keeping applications current or developing/buying new ones
  • The shift toward APIs will mean that application managers will have to embrace new vendor landscapes and delivery methods
