Impacts and Recommendations

  • Digital business and smart machine technologies/services will cause a massive shift from labor-based models to "straight-through" digital processes, requiring IT and business leaders to address the resulting impacts of job loss and changing resourcing requirements
  • Increasing use of digital business models will call for organizations to acquire a small number of highly skilled people with scarce skills, in order to enhance their competitiveness
  • Risk and change management competencies will be crucial to success as organizations strive to cope with the magnitude of change resulting from the implementation of Nexus of Forces (cloud, social, mobile and information) technologies as part of new digital business models
