TASCO Europe: A Joint Venture to Pursue Business Process Outsourcing of Accounting Functions

In October of 1997, Ernst & Young LLP and Shell International Ltd. announced that they would form a joint venture to provide pan-European accounting services. The new entity, TASCO Europe (TASCO--"The Accounting Services Company"), went "live" in February. The company recently opened its Glasgow facility, a shared service center from which it will provide business process outsourcing solutions. This Perspective will provide an overview of TASCO and its progress.
