Analyst(s): Martin Lee

Lockheed Martin has a long and distinguished history as a contractor in the federal sector and the company has been an IT service vendor for many decades. Lockheed Martin entered the federal IT outsourcing market in the late 1960s and grew its revenue in this market to a total of $1.8 billion in revenue in 1998. Despite the company's revenue size and length of experience, Lockheed Martin is not very well known for its outsourcing services offering. The company has been working diligently to build brand recognition in the IT services market and especially in the outsourcing market. This Perspective profiles Lockheed Martin's outsourcing capabilities.
