E-Enabling Technology for E-Logistics

Summary

Four enabling technology categories that are basic necessities across the core e-logistics business functions are: the efficiency analyzer, e-business framework, global visibility system and collaborative logistics exchange. While no individual business appears to require enabling e-logistics technologies across the board, the most extensive users are wholesalers and traditional logistics management companies. Enablers with a wide product mix may find it more rewarding to target such companies. On the other hand, companies evaluating solutions should look at the enabler's full range of offerings that are related to their current and future needs; it may be more cost-efficient to look for enablers with integrated solutions.
