Software AG's Adabas is a high-performance database management system optimized for online transaction processing. Originally developed for mainframe environments, it runs on the major S/390 operating systems--OS/390, MVS/ESA, VSE/ESA, and VM/ESA. It also runs on other major proprietary platforms such as Windows NT, OpenVMS, and OS/400 as well as the major Unix operating environments, such as IBM AIX, Compaq Tru64 UNIX, HP-UX, and Sun Solaris. Software AG also offers a purely relational database management system, Adabas D, for the Unix and Windows NT server market.
