Summary

The Madge.connect Collage 750 backbone ATM switch is primarily targeted at the LAN environment. It provides the backbone of a campus network, and features either a pure ATM LAN environment or a mixture of ATM in the backbone and Ethernet and Token Ring at the desktop. The 4-Gbps Collage 750 switch supports up to five OC-12c/STM-4, 25 OC-3c/STM-1, and 20 T1/E1 ATM interfaces and can be configured to support up to 64 ELANs/VLANs. The T1/E1 interface capability allows the Collage 750 to interface with ATM wide-area networks. This modular product supports up to 155-Mbps ports while new 622-Mbps interfaces provide ways to scale the backbone.
