Nortel Networks' Universal Edge 610 Series, 624, and 640 access platforms are broadband multiservice access concentrators designed for use in service provider applications, including outsourced enterprise networks. The multiservice access concentrator platforms support ATM, IP, frame relay, LAN (Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Token Ring, and FDDI), and digital voice technologies. While the Universal Edge 610 Series supports an ATM circuit speed range of 1.544 Mbps (T1/E1) through 45 Mbps (DS-3), the Universal Edge 640 supports an ATM circuit speed range from 1.544 Mbps (T1/E1) through 155 Mbps (OC-3c/STM-1). The Universal Edge product line also supports Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA), Switched Virtual Circuits (SVCs), and Permanent Virtual Circuits (PVCs).
