Avaya (formerly the Enterprise Networks Group of Lucent Technologies) offers the Cajun M770 Multifunction Switch for the backbone of enterprise LAN networks. It is primarily positioned as an ATM switch, but can also be deployed as a Gigabit Ethernet switch. Furthermore, the M770 switch can function simultaneously as an ATM switch and a Gigabit Ethernet switch. As an ATM switch, the M770 features an 80-Gbps switching throughput and up to 42 OC-12/STM-4 and 210 OC-3/STM-1 interfaces. As a Gigabit Ethernet switch, the M770 has a 12-Gbps switching throughput and support for up to 28 1000Base-SX/LX, 120 100Base-T/FX, 120 10Base-T, 448 100BaseT, 120 100Base-FX, and 196 10Base-FL interfaces.
