Published: 27 September 2000

Summary

Both site administrators and an organization's marketing personnel use Web site traffic analysis tools. These tools determine the overall effectiveness of the site, including meaningful data about visitors. This data enables administrators to change the infrastructure of the site when necessary, as well as to identify trouble spots, such as broken links, ensuring the site's availability and usability. It also helps the marketing department to meet the needs of the site's visitors. Being able to track visitors and site usage allows organizations to attract new visitors, retain repeat visitors, and to better target and view the effectiveness of online advertisements. Traffic analysis solutions help provide users with the best possible experience while visiting a site and, more importantly, keep the users coming back for more.
