In the ever-changing scenario of alliances and acquisitions, i2, IBM, and Ariba have formed a partnership that has moved Makoro from IBM to i2. Renamed the RHYTHM Makoro Merchandise Planner, i2 sees the product as a merchandise-planning solution designed for retailers with annual sales from US$250 million to US$ multibillions. Makoro supports processes for Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning, and Decision Support--as well as integration with third-party applications. It features thin-client architecture that centralizes data consolidation, administration, and core system growth. Makoro is the merchandise-planning tool of choice for some of the world's largest retailers.
