Consumers are increasingly using the Internet when shopping for or renewing an insurance policy. But the majority of these online shoppers use the Internet for the purpose of comparison-shopping rather than for submitting insurance applications or claims. Nonetheless, Gartner believes that online insurance shopping will become as popular as other online financial services, thus compelling insurance providers to maximize market share today.
