Founded in 1984, Epicor Software grew out of two companies, Platinum Software and DataWorks. The joined company operated under the Platinum name until May 1999, when it was announced that it would from now on conduct business as Epicor Software Corporation. The name Epicor was chosen to reflect the company's desire to get to the very center of business, the very core that would enable it to better help its clients create CRM solutions by which to improve their organizations and grow more successful. Epicor's CRM product suite is known as Clientele or, alternately, Epicor eFrontOffice, and it offers solid features, including a plethora of reporting capabilities. Clientele can be used as a whole solution or selected components can be implemented as needed.
