Given the rapid demand for e-government solutions, the vendor community has needed to develop new ways to differentiate themselves in the marketplace as well as strategically position themselves to capture new opportunities. This Perspective will outline some of the major issues in the vendor community and provide a relative framework to assess the market positioning of the top professional services vendors. In particular, this Perspective will discuss the impact of the dot-com portal players, while highlighting key strategic alliances and partnerships, and providing Gartner Dataquest's competitive matrix of the leading e-government services vendors.
