With many Professional Services Organizations (PSOs), embedded services organizations, (e.g., computer technology companies), IT departments, and non-IS companies struggling to deliver services internally or externally, automating the service supply chain is a hot topic these days. Compounding this demand is Wall Street's signaling of a looming recession-- --another good reason for services firms to expand their forward view further down the business opportunity pipeline, more effectively bid and secure appropriate service deals, and achieve near-100 percent resource utilization and optimization in services delivery. California-based Evolve Software has been focusing on services delivery optimization since 1997. Evolve's ServiceSphere, now in its third major release, boasts end-to-end service chain optimization, including the management of opportunities, of resources, and of service delivery itself.
