On 22 February, Siemens announced its intention to buy Efficient Networks Inc., in a cash tender of $23.50 per outstanding share of stock, valuing the company at approximately $1.5 billion. Efficient Networks is a leading provider of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) customer premise equipment and Siemens is one of the leading international provider of integrated voice, video, and data networks for enterprises, carriers and service providers.
