Impacts and Recommendations

  • AWS has made enterprise IaaS adoption mainstream; in doing so, it has allowed many other providers to pursue offering value-added services without the capital-intensive needs of a data center infrastructure
  • AWS has lowered the barriers to entry for MSPs globally; providers can offer value on top of the AWS platform in many ways, such as implementation, integration and managed services
  • In making IaaS adoption mainstream, AWS is opening the market to more opportunity; the window of opportunity will shrink as more MSPs bring forward AWS capabilities
