A range of new MD110 features supported includes Personal Number, Short Message Service (SMS), Business Cordless Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT), and Internet Protocol (IP) extensions. A cornerstone of the MD110 is its distributed architecture. The MD110 has full DECT cordless functionality and supports up to 20,000 mobile users. Ericsson's ApplicationLink CTI interface utilizes a new interface board with Ethernet and TCP/IP. In MD110 Release BC10, IP/Ethernet was introduced as an interface for CTI services and external data applications. BC11 utilizes the IP infrastructure to give mobility more power. Ericsson has recently changed its direct sales and service distribution model in favor of a global indirect distribution model.
