On 24 July, 2001, Convergys took another step toward becoming a European billing powerhouse when it signed a five-year license contract for its Atlys customer care and billing solution with mobile operator Orange France (formerly France Telecom Mobile). Convergys did not disclose the value of the deal, but it constitutes the company's largest software license sale to date. According to some estimates, the total value could exceed $100 million. In terms of subscribers, this contract is comparable with Convergys' AT&T Wireless deal of March 2001, which constitutes a seven-year outsourcing arrangement estimated at between $1.2 and $1.5 billion.
