Impacts and Recommendations

  • SAP BusinessObjects Cloud is a new BI and analytics platform with visual exploration, dashboards, predictive analytics, planning and alerting in the Hana Cloud Platform, giving prospective cloud BI, analytics and planning buyers a new choice
  • SAP Digital Boardroom is built on SAP BusinessObjects Cloud and will appeal to executives who want dashboards and what-if analysis, with touch-enabled multiscreen display
  • Integration with SAP cloud-based business applications, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Hana and SAP Hana Cloud Platform will appeal to customers of those, but lack of broad, hybrid connectivity to on-premises data sources will limit uptake
  • As an additional and distinct BI and analytics product in an already complex portfolio, this new product may further confuse on-premises SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise customers, made worse by recent rebranding
