As Crystal Decisions' query, reporting, and analysis tools, Crystal Reports provides reporting against a wide variety of data sources, including Extensible Markup Language (XML) data sources, relational and desktop databases, Hyperion Essbase online analytical processing (OLAP) Server and flat files, while Crystal Analysis Professional enables developers and report designers to create interactive end-user OLAP reports against Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services and SQL Server 7 OLAP Services (support for other OLAP data sources is planned). These products, which can be used stand-alone, are also integrated with, and in fact are an essential part of, Crystal Enterprise, which is an infrastructure for publishing and delivering reports. When coupled with Crystal Reports and/or Crystal Analysis Professional, Crystal Enterprise is an enterprise business intelligence suite (EBIS).
