Summary
Endpoint computing managers are unlikely to be able to use VDI to accelerate their Windows 10 deployments unless VDI is already in place. Most managers who require new Windows 10 security features won't be able to implement them on VDI until 2018, due to hypervisor support limitations.
Included in Full Research
- Endpoint computing managers who are new to VDI will find that VDI implementation is as or more complex than migrating to Windows 10
- Endpoint computing managers must use Hyper-V to support new Windows 10 security technology in VDI until at least late 2017, delaying functionality availability on all other hypervisors into at least 2018
- Windows 10 will initially require endpoint computing managers to employ more resources to run on VDI, potentially decreasing user density or performance on existing infrastructure
