Decision Drivers will provide a tutorial designed to outline the use of its Refined Hierarchical Analysis (RHA) approach, and vendor selection methodology, which includes a "best practices" approach to product evaluation and selection. The goal of this tutorial is to provide a framework for decision making that enables organizations to make a better, faster and more cost-effective enterprise resource planning application decisions. Enterprise resource planning system evaluation and acquisition is both expensive and time consuming; studies and interviews show that on average, ERP selections take anywhere from nine to 18 months and involve project teams that range upwards of 25 people. As the traditional ERP market consolidates and transforms itself, ERP vendors have turned their attention and resources to newer technologies like CRM and e-commerce and expanded their application footprint. In this environment, it is especially critical to evaluate vendor-related criteria, such as viability and commitment to the ERP market, as well as product-specific criteria, such as functionality and cost.
