Summary

The work of EA entails pursuing enterprise-level, long-term objectives, which are in natural tension with the near-term, localized focus of the teams that must adopt EA's recommendations. This incentive misalignment is at the heart of EA's challenge to change the minds and behaviors of its stakeholders and drive adoption of EA recommendations. For EA to survive in this environment, the function must shift from authority-based governance to a scalable influence-based mindset.
