Summary

Attempts to measure the end user experience of infrastructure performance typically fail to scale across all infrastructure services. This case study illustrates Schlumberger's approach to translate traditional datacenter metrics into a meaningful view of service productivity, including how Schlumberger identifies objective application performance requirements, senses bandwidth requirements before performance degradation, and creates a consistent user-view of performance to guide investment decisions.
