Unblocking IT Leadership Pipelines

Traditionally, organizations have planned for leadership succession using a pipeline approach—grooming a named successor to take a particular position when it becomes available. However, the changes of the new work environment mean this approach is no longer effective—and those pipelines are broken in four significant ways: fix pipelines to nowhere, fix narrow pipelines, fix misaligned pipelines, and fix rusty pipelines.
