In this research, we answer the question "How can I identify high-potential employees in IT?" High-potential (HIPO) employees have the ability, engagement, and aspiration to rise and succeed in senior positions. While ability relates to the skills and competencies of an employee, the other two relate to the will of the employee to succeed in the organization. Without all three, even the best performers will not succeed at the next level in the organization.
