Software End-of-Life Strategies

This summary contains input from nine members on software end-of-life strategies. We begin this summary by outlining members' IT organizational structures and the number of applications that they support. Next, we analyze members' approaches to software EOL management, the classification systems they use to prioritize remediation work, and the preventative measures they employ to limit the impact of vulnerable end-of-life applications. We then explore members' tools for monitoring and tracking EOL software within their organizations, followed by their funding sources for EOL efforts. We continue with an analysis of members' staffing approaches for developing and executing software EOL strategies. Finally, we close with members' reflections on how software EOL strategies have changed and will continue to evolve.
