What criteria should we use to identify the right rotation opportunities for individual category managers? Successful category manager rotation programs apply the following criteria for determining who is ready for a rotation, and where the most beneficial rotation would be: Creative potential of category managers (in addition to subject matter expertise). Innovation needs of different categories (based on business need and presence of innovative suppliers). Similarity in stakeholder profiles and category characteristics (i.e. demand and supply conditions).
