The right way to start for a new CPO is understand the function to better partner with key stakeholders throughout the organization. The goal is to build a function that is fit for purpose. Establish what the function is about using both fact-based data and the views of influential stakeholders. Meet with board members and senior stakeholders to get the knowledge that will help create the future state strategy. Assess the strengths and development opportunities and determine where to invest time and effort.
