What criteria should be considered when evaluating potential suppliers? An analysis of supplier selection criteria shows assessments typically focus on six primary categories: overall alignment, proposal sufficiency, the supplier's ability to deliver, technological capabilities, account management and pricing. Instead of customizing criteria, work with business partners to define evaluation scales to help speed assessments and facilitate evaluation consensus and, Standard rating scales should be simple and focus on eliminating sub-par suppliers rather than providing a clear quantitative "winner".
