In this research, we answer the question "What tactics help ensure teams set realistic timelines for collaborative supplier projects?" Our data indicates that the average time it takes to complete a collaborative supplier project is around 6 months. Successful Procurement teams set broad ranges for acceptable project timeline estimates, require project teams to refine the specificity of the timeline projection, and have roject teams document lessons learned about timeline forecasts for each project.
