While companies increasingly rely on managers for employee coaching and development, only 35% of employees find their manager effective at it. As it turns out, too much feedback can be disengaging, and managers may not always know what employees want or need. And as employees increasingly work across multiple technical and business terrains, most managers won’t have the required skill set to provide their employees with the right support.
