Application Maintenance and Support
This summary contains input from twelve members on approaches to organizing Application Maintenance and Support (AMS) teams to enable Agile and DevOps methodologies. We begin this summary by reviewing the execution of application maintenance and application support activities at member organizations, and by identifying whether application maintenance and support (AMS) activities are performed on the same team. We follow with an analysis of staffing at members' AMS organizations and an identification of the IT organization's primary organizational model. We then examine members' ratings for their current AMS organizational structure in terms of its ability to support the implementation of Agile/DevOps. We close with a look at the advantages and disadvantages of members' current application support and/or application maintenance operating models.
