Fine Hygienic Holding’s supply chain leaders had to rethink how manufacturing could use resources more effectively. The challenge was how to deliver the same or better service while reducing inventory. The answer was to improve capability at the manufacturing line to reduce the number of changeovers. Leaders built a plan to reduce the time of a size-to-size changeover, piloting it on one manufacturing line. They examined the changeover constraints and optimized the activities behind them — leading to reducing changeover time by half.
