Based on Gartner’s current global recession scenario due to the COVID-19 pandemic, spending in 2020 will decline by 13.8% to reach $85.6 billion following a 3.6% decline in 2019. As the world economy recovers and supply and demand picks up, recovery is expected in 2021 by 6.4%.
