What are members’ architectural debt maturity levels in the application landscape, and how are they quantifying such debt and communicating with the business about it?
Most respondents (22 of 29, or 76%) identify or manage the architectural debt in their application landscape. Overall, nearly one-third of the respondents (9 of 29, or 31%) are at the “defined” maturity level.
To quantify architectural debt, respondents use metrics such as “strategic importance of business applications” (15 of 21 respondents, or 71%), “degree of standardization” (67%), and “IT incidents” (62%), among others.
