This Consult the Board survey summary features inputs from 20 members regarding their approaches for security programs’ assessment. It describes the frequency, security standards, and third-party providers associated with members’ assessment methods.
Do members internally self assess their security programs or do they use external parties?
Almost all respondents (19 of 20, or 95%) perform periodic assessments of their security programs.
A nearly equal number of respondents conduct a third-party assessment (15 of 19, or 79%) or self assessment (14 of 19, or 74%)of their security programs.
As for the frequency, most respondents perform “annual” third-party assessments (8 of 15) and “annual” self assessments (9 of 14).
Respondents’ key third-party security assessment providers include Ernst & Young (8 of 18, or 44%), Deloitte (5 respondents), and PricewaterhouseCoopers (5 respondents).
