This Consult the Board survey summary features inputs from 34 members on the effectiveness of some of the top initiatives of their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, and the metrics they use to assess the success of these programs. We’ve also included an interactive dashboard at the end of the summary that showcases the popularity of various DEI initiatives based on responding members’ industries and the maturity levels of respondents’ DEI programs.
What are the most impactful initiatives members are implementing as part of their DEI programs?
Just over half of respondents (53%, or 18 of 34) rate their DEI programs at the “Defined” maturity level where a formal program has been established, with an identified leader and clear commitment for the program from senior management and other key stakeholders.
To assess their DEI programs, respondents most commonly track the change in number of diverse new hires or overall diversity representation among employees (91%, or 31 of 34) and review the results of employee satisfaction or engagement survey results (79%, or 27
