Overview
Key Findings
Executive leaders transitioning into a new role face the risk of information overload and fragmented attention as they face multiple concurrent demands, leading to one or more of the following issues:
Concentrating their attention on building relationships and establishing their position organizationally. This reduces their focus on core operations and resources that will drive their long-term success.
Starting the position with an unclear understanding of the quality and capabilities of their resources or the individuals responsible for those resources. Executive leaders may lack the understanding about whether they have the resources and organizational performance needed to deliver on their commitments.
